Class of 1996 (Softball) Lauren is as one of the best softball players in school history. She was a three-time MVP, captain, the AJC Player of the Week, was named First-Team All-State and once stole six bases in one game. She played in the North/South All-Star game in Valdosta, GA. Besides softball; she also earned the Coach’s Award in swimming as a sophomore and was named Best Offensive Player on her JV hoops squad in ’92. Schwarz went on to star at Georgia Tech in softball. She played in every game and started all but one. She was the 1998 stolen base leader in the ACC, started in center field, was named the ACC Player of the Week, and was named the GT student athlete of the week. She earned the Tech Scholar Award for having the highest GPA and earned various conference Honor Roll awards.
