Class of 2009 (Soccer): Kelly was a four-year varsity performer on the HIES soccer team, earning many awards in the process. As a freshman, she was named All-Area First Team and Player of the Year and, as a junior, earned Most Valuable Defensive player for the Bears. She was team captain and MVP as a senior. In 2006, she helped lead the Lady Bears to a state championship where she still holds the single-season shutout record. She recorded 462 saves and also holds the mark for most saves in a season. As a member of the Tophat ’09 Gold club team out of Atlanta, she helped her squad to back-to-back state titles and a runner-up finish in 2008. Collegiately, Kelly logged valuable minutes as a backup keeper her freshman and sophomore seasons at the University of Colorado-Boulder. Kelly is in graduate school at Mercer University - Atlanta pursuing a M.S. in clinical mental health counseling and is extremely excited to follow her passion in helping people.
