Class of 2005 (Volleyball) Katie was a 4-year starter and led the teams to a combined 116-55 record, qualifying for the state tournament all four years. In 2003 the team advanced to the Elite 8 and 2004 they advanced to the Final Four. Katie was a 3-time MVP, named to the All-Area Team in her junior and senior year. She was the HI first player to be named to the All-State team and well as the Senior All-Star Team. She is currently #1 all-time leader in Aces in a Career and Aces Per Game in a Career; #1 all-time leader in Aces and Aces Per Game in a Season, #2 all-time leader in Total Digs in a Career, #3 all-time leader in Total Kills in a Career and Kills Per Game in a Career, #6 all-time leader in Attack Percentage in a Career, and many other single match and season records. Katie was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council President her senior year, Executive board Secretary her senior year, Student Council Secretary her sophomore year, member of the Math Club, Spirit Club, Latin Club, and student tour guide. She attended HI from 1999-2005. After HI, Katie went on to play volleyball at Emory University for 2 years. In addition, she often returned to HI to coach summer camp and club volleyball.
