Class of 2008 (baseball) Daniel was a three-year starting second baseman and relief pitcher for the varsity baseball program, where he helped lead HI to the Final Four as a sophomore, Class AA State Champions as a junior and quarterfinals his last year. As a senior captain, he was awarded the Matt Molen award and named AJC First Team All-State. He still ranks #6 on the all-time list for RBI’s in a career and top 10 for career batting average. In the classroom, Daniel was inducted into the National Honor Society and awarded the University of Georgia Certificate of Merit, Certificate of Honorable Merit – Magna Cum Laude, for National Latin Examination, College Board AP Scholar Award, Mu Alpha Theta and Scholar Athlete Award He went on to play at Georgia State University, where he was named a two-time academic all-district student/athlete, held a position on Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and earned honors for community service and mentorship programs. On the field, he started in 34 of his 110 games, had 46 hits, scored 31 runs, drove in 27 and had two homers.
