Class of 2005 (Basketball & Track) Christy is one of the most decorated athletes in HI history. Her Basketball career is highlighted by earning a 4 year varsity letter, First Team All-State selection her senior year, Second Team All-State selection her junior year, North/South Player of the Year junior year, AAU 16 and under All-American, McDonalds and WBCA High School All American Nominee, scored over 1500 points in her career, and Region Player of the Year senior. Her former coach Liz Kennedy states “She grew into a true leader earning the respect of not only her teammates, but all the younger players as well. As a 5 time state champion in track, she was a one woman show on the court. She was unguardable. By the time she was a junior she was scoring 24 pts per game in the post season. “ Her Track career is equally impressive. She was State Champion in the 100m, 200m and Long Jump during her junior year and repeated again in her senior year, as well as setting a new state record in the Long Jump. Christy was a member of FCA, Spirit Club, Service Club, and was the Margret Kaminer Scholarship Award winner her Sophomore year. Christy attended HI from 2001-2005. She then went on to play 5 years (red shirted) of basketball at Clemson University.
