Nick Perrotta Named New Head Football Coach

After an extensive search that included more than 100 candidates, Holy Innocents' and Athletic Director Tony Watkins are excited to announce that our very own, Nick Perrotta, has been promoted to new head football coach.

Perrotta replaces Coach Todd Winter and will soon be the third head coach in our school's gridiron history.

"I am extremely excited to take over in this role," Nick said. "My four years here have been such an incredible experience as I have found myself engrained in this community. This is a special place with wonderful people who go above and beyond to achieve excellence and follow our mission.

"Also, I'm looking forward to continuing the success we've had in our football program and elevating it to heights we've never reached. This will also be special as we return to Class AA , where we have picked up some new region opponents."

Nick moves up after serving as Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator the previous four years, where the HIES defense finished consistently in the top-10 in Class AAAA, giving up only 13.8 points per game. He has also received such accolades as "Coordinator of the Year" from Parker Resources and "30 under 30" by Georgia Football Scoop.

Before arriving on our campus, he spent two years coaching at Washington & Lee in Lexington, VA, where he there also elevated the defensive unit to top numbers in the Generals' respective conference.

Before that, he was a graduate assistant at his alma mater – Kennesaw State – where he was a three-year member of the Owls squad, including helping them to a 12-2 season during the 2017 campaign. He played all 22 games at defensive line the last two seasons, while earning a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management degree off the field.

If this isn't enough, Nick and his fiancé – Caroline Crosby – are engaged to be married in June of this year. Besides his football duties, Nick has also served as a Dean of Students and also helps coach golf in the spring.

Looking ahead, there will be a "Meet the Coach Night" on Monday, March 11 at 6 p.m. in the Stem Dining Hall. Please join the entire Golden Bear community in congratulating Nick on his well-deserved promotion.
