The role of the Bears Athletic Club is to support all HIES teams and the Athletic Department by raising funds, organizing events and delivering resources that exceed the limitations of their standard budgets and capabilities. Since the school has been mandated by SAIS to dissolve all separate 501c3 parent organizations, we decided this is the best time to combine the efforts of Crimson and Gold and The Touchdown Club so we have ONE booster club for Athletics. We are the Bears Athletic Club.

Having one booster club offers numerous benefits for the HIES community:

• Solidarity and Unity: One Booster Club fosters a sense of solidarity among supporters of all sports at HIES.
• It eliminates confusion for donors and promotes inclusion across the Primary School, Lower School and Middle School for Upper School events.
• Strategic Donor Requests: Consolidating into one club eliminates confusion for donors and reduces the number of fundraising asks they receive. This will lead to higher donor engagement and reduce potential donor fatigue.
• Streamlined Communication: With one booster club, communication can be enhanced through upgrades in social media and athletic communication platforms. This ensures better engagement with various groups such as THE DEN, student council spirit committees, coaches and team committees. Additionally, having a consolidated athletics event calendar helps promote events and allows supporters to plan ahead.
• Transparent Spending: Centralizing athletic spending under one booster club allows for greater transparency in athletics-related financial matters.
• Enhanced Game-Day Experience: With a unified approach, initiatives such as updated music, team introductions, spirit item giveaways, contests and theme nights can improve the game-day experience for athletes, students and fans.
• Broader Volunteer Base: One booster club can engage and coordinate a broader volunteer base, tapping into the collective efforts of the entire athletic community.
• Improved Athletic Experience: The overall athletic experience will be enhanced for all student-athletes by pooling resources and efforts.
• Opportunity for New Initiatives: Having a single booster club allows us to pursue new initiatives that consistently elevate the brand of HIES athletics, ensuring continuous improvement and growth.
