The Aqua Bears were at Wesleyan last Thursday, with some of the highlights Bobby Skyrnecki qualifying for state in the 50-free, Madeline Brown in the 100-back, and several first place finishes and PR's. Cole Brashier was also a big positive. They will return to action this weekend at the Last Chance Meet at Pace before the state meet the following weekend.
Swish! Girls' hoops beat Hapeville Tuesday, Hardaway 67-32 Monday, New Manchester 51-34 Saturday and Kipp Friday. Loriel Murray (22 points, 10 rebounds), Elana McMasters (17 points), and Makayla Weaver (12) lit it up vs. Hapeville while, vs. Hardaway, Murray had 25 points, 13 rebounds, McMasters netted 12, and Parker Smith had 10 coming off the bench. Against New Manchester, Murray had 25 points, 13 rebounds, McMasters chipped in 10 points, and Sasha Thompson added five. Basket! Boys' hoops topped Hapeville Tuesday, Westminster Monday and Kipp 67-59 last weekend. Devin Hutcherson (18 points), Jaden McCullough (16), Kai Worthy (14), and Jordan Mays (12) shouldered the scoring vs. Hapeville. Against Westminster, McCullough scored 27, Worthy 19 points and 8 rebounds, King Araujo netted 12, and Hutcherson had 10. Pin! The Mat Bears won two dual matches Wednesday on Senior Night, where they celebrated the career of Ethan Meisinger. Big wins came from Meisinger, Hardy Forsberg, and a huge overtime victory by Ben Ashley. Looking ahead, the Traditional Area is up next, slated for Jan. 31
