Our golf teams battled the winds and tough Area opponents Tuesday and, though the squads narrowly missed qualifying for state, the Bears did have one individual who will move on.
Â
Senior
Haven Ward – generally known as "under par as a golfer, and over par as a human," tied for Low Medalist after 18 holes and won the playoff, sinking a birdie putt to capture yet another individual title.
Â
Teamwise, both squads placed fourth, the girls actually tied for third after their round, but lost on a playoff hole to miss out on the team advancement.
Â
Besides Haven's fine play,
Katherine Stembridge,
Maybrie Mattson,
Caroline Edwards, and
Jane Fuller turned in some solid support.
Â
On the boys' side, Nick McKay was our low man; he was followed by Nate Skaggs and
Parker Miles.
Â
Looking ahead, the state meet is slated May 22
nd and 23
rd at Whitewater.Â
