Tuesday varsity sports were highlighted by our soccer teams on Baker Field yesterday and last night, as both squads mercy ruled Hapeville Charter by 10-0 margins.
Â
Both games were a case of keeping up with goals instead of saves and, starting with the girls, our scores came from two each by Ava McMasters,
Olivia Hutcherson, and Lauren Malsom, and one each out of
Lilly Russell,
Maria Utz,
Colette Harwell and Sophia Cordilla.
Â
For the boys, Angelo Ramirez netted four,
Sairis Panah and
Tucker Gleeson two each, and
Ryan Strother and
Peter van der Mandele each netted a goal.Â
Â
There was some defensive and field brilliance in this one, as
Preston Cate again excelled in goal while
Luca Schittone played well at midfield.
Â
Things didn't go as well in boys' lacrosse, as our boys fell 10-8 to North Atlanta on Turf Field. Pierce Preston was a big positive in goal; Charles Mooney was excellent in the Face-Off X, and Noah Carlson was again a force on offense.
Â
On the links, our boys' golf team opened at the Brookstone Invitational in Columbus. Parker Miles led the way; he had good help from Thomas Peeler, Matt Binney, and Nathan Skaggs.Â
