Holy Innocents' is proud to announce the hiring of Mike D'Andraia, who will serve as head varsity lacrosse coach, assistant varsity football coach, and will teach health and weight training classes in the Middle and Upper Schools.
Â
Mike brings immense experience, having coached at the collegiate and high school levels in both lacrosse and football.Â
Â
"I can't wait to get started," he said. "I feel great excitement, as I've heard nothing but great things about Holy Innocents'. Also, coaching both football and lacrosse are my passions, and I'm looking forward to this opportunity."
Â
As a lacrosse player, he was a member of the Salisbury University (MD) national champion DIII lacrosse team before he first began his passion for coaching college football, where he had roles at Pace University in New York, St. Peter's College (NJ), Western Connecticut State, and Whittier (CA). He also had high school stints at Haldane High School (NY), and Malibu High (CA), before returning to lax coaching.
Â
He's earned two Coach of the Year lax honors – one at Thousand Oaks (CA), and another at Cambridge High in Atlanta.
Â
Looking at his local experience, he was a community coach at Harrison High in Marietta, moved on to Cambridge for five successful years, then on to Mt. Pisgah, before serving the last five at Westminster.
Â
At Westminster, his lax teams won a state title and played in three championship games, while the football squads advanced to the playoffs four of the last five years.
Â
"I love coaching football, and I love coaching lacrosse," Coach Mike added. "Hopefully, Holy Innocents' will be my last stop where I can enjoy doing both. I'm looking forward to it."
Â
Mike and his wife, Kathleen, have two children – a 10-year-old daughter (Toni) and a 9-year-old son (Dominic).Â
Â
Please join the Holy Innocents' family in welcoming the D'Andraia's to our community.Â
