Our swim and dive team made some positive waves Saturday at Lake Lanier. Below, told by Coach Kristina Nesbitt, are details about this very successful outing:
 
"This year, The HIES Swim and Dive Team surpassed the $100,000 mark raised for Swim Across America.  We started participating in 2016, and all the money stays in Georgia and goes straight to the CHOA Pediatric and Blood Disorders Center for research and to support families dealing with cancer. 
 
HIES swimmers Madeline Brown and Kate George are serving their second term and third terms (respectively) on Georgia's Swim Across America Junior Advisory Board, which is a very competitive selection process. Past HIES SAA Junior Board Members include Meghan Taner, Abby Pilkenton, Elijah Carswell, Cade Anderson (Co-president), and Eric Wood (co-president). 
 
On September 20th, we swam at Lake Lanier Olympic Park, with this year's swimmers including Matthew Binney, Madeline Brown, Marshall Camp, Juliana Federico, Ella Ghirardi, Lily Hudson, and Julia Russell."
