The Aqua Bears took to the water at Lovett Friday and, after the last wall was touched, Coach
Kristina Nesbitt had two relay teams make state cuts as well as some other top swims.
"We had some tough DQ's, which cost us the meet on the boys' side, but we learned a lot for the future," Coach Nesbitt said. "Still, we have a lot of fantastic freshmen swimmers."
The two boys' relays teams making the state grade included the 200-medley team of
Aidan O'Connor,
Jon Miller Doughtie,
Marshall Camp, and
Bobby Skrynecki, while the 200-free squad consisted of O'Connor,
Cole Sprague, Camp, and Skrynecki.
O'Connor also touched first in the 100-back.
Other great swims came from
Madeline Brown – who took first in the 50-free and second in the 100-free, while other second place finishes came from
Lily Hudson in the 50-free,
Ella Ghirardi in the 100-breast,
Julia Russell in the 500-free, and Skyrnecki in the 100-free.
