Several varsity teams dodged the rain Tuesday and got in some late regular season action, below are the recaps - starting with soccer.
Clayton Schmitt's girls' picked up a 3-1 win over Riverwood at home – a game where they had many opportunities but finished enough to get the result.
As far as the highlights,
Lauren Malsom scored two of the goals,
Lilly Russell the other. Lauren has five goals in the last three games.
Ava McMasters was a pain in the defender's sides all game, while
Paige Jacquin was excellent also.Â
The boys didn't fare as well, falling 1-0 to the Raiders. HI also had lots of chances in this one but couldn't find the back of the net in the effort.
Over to lacrosse, Coach
Patrick Ammons' bunch got it done in overtime in a 13-12 win over rival Pace.
Jackson James scored the game winner to go with three other goals on the evening, while
Jordan Alston led the way with five.
Brantley Crossfield was a defensive wizard; keeper
Pierce Preston made several clutch saves throughout in helping preserve the win.
The girls' had some trouble at Westminster in a loss on the road, though
Fallon Kaufman scored two goals,
Evie Price one, and
Lily Spector had an assist.
Girls' varsity golf fell to Wesleyan but got some good depth and experience in a day that had tough course conditions. Brooke Benedict was a beast, firing a 38 to lead the way.

Boys' golfers played Thursday and were led by low medalist Nicholas McKay (1-under) Monday, support from Andrew Campbell, James Carper, Matthew Binney, Jack Graham. Cannon Mori and Griffin Moore starred for the Gold team.
Other sports were thwarted by Mother Nature but will return to action today – baseball had a doubleheader against Hapeville Charter rained out – that has been rescheduled for Monday. They will take on Southwest DeKalb on the road today.
In tennis, the region tournament was postponed but will being today at Westminster. Both our girls and boys go in as the #2 seeds and look to make yet another trip to the state playoffs when the last ball is hit.Â
As for track, they will head to Lovett this afternoon in a five-team meet. The Running Bears' will travel to Lovett again on the 17
th; the region meet is scheduled for April 20
th and 22
nd at Buck Godfrey Stadium, with the top four in each event moving on to Sectionals.Â
