Aqua Bear senior
Spencer Pearson finished up a great high school diving career Tuesday at the State Swim Meet at Georgia Tech, placing third in Class A-AAA.
Â
"He dove really well," Coach
Kristina Nesbitt said. "His score was higher than last year."
Â
Pearson won the state crowns in both his sophomore and junior seasons after finishing top-5 as a freshman.
Â
"He nailed a 2 ½ reverse twice," Nesbitt continued. "Unfortunately, there were two divers who moved down from 5A to 3A this season which proved tough. Still, after having to quarantine twice during the season, it's amazing what he was able to pull off. Pulling off his 2 ½ twice on a 1-meter board is tough."
Â
Looking ahead to Thursday, both
Sydney Sprayberry and
Anna Harper will be competing in the 50-free; both will team with Gaby Diamonon and
Laney Bertholf in the 200- and 400-free relays.
Â
On the boys' side,
Andrew Keller,
Benjamin Cummings,
Nathan Skaggs, and
Christopher Binney will compete in the 200-free.
