Ten Student/Athletes Sign!

Special ceremony held Tuesday in gym

Ten stellar student/athletes were honored Tuesday, April 14th on National Signing Day in the main gym. All were introduced and lauded for their great accomplishments both on and off the fields, and were greeted by teammates, coaches, and parents thereafter.
 Below are the brief bios:

Chase Anarumo – Baseball

Chase has been a stellar member of our baseball program for four years. Both as a pitcher and in the field, he has been a key member of Coach Jeff Rowland's squad that consistently goes deep into the playoffs. He will attend Williams College.

Gavin Evans – Baseball

Gavin will attend the University of the South, also in baseball, after working his way up in the program in his Middle and Upper School years. He has proven an asset both on the field and off and should be a great addition for the Tigers.

Taylor Fuller – Baseball

Taylor – after four years as a starter on our varsity – will attend Kennesaw State University after remaining on the top of the HIES stat charts with his bat, his speed, and his glove. He graduates as one of the Bears' top all-time hitters.

Dawson Radaszewski – Baseball

Dawson will attend Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA to continue his days on the diamond. He continues to leave his mark here at HI – he has been a stellar performer in our program both offensively and defensively in his career.

Fallon Kaufman – Lacrosse

Fallon will move on to Presbyterian College, after scoring more than 100 career goals in lacrosse. A four-year starter, she is one of the few at HIES who has gained this milestone, and she will graduate as one of our all-time leaders in this category.

Devin Hutcherson – Basketball

Devin will attend Kansas State University after being a four-year starter in our basketball program that includes a state championship in 2025. He was consistently at the top of the stat charts in both scoring and rebounding for Coach Mario Mays.

Myles Jackson – Football

After a great high school career both academically and athletically, Myles will move on to Columbia University in New York to continue his football days. Myles – a defensive lineman – was a major reason for the Bears continued playoff runs while at HIES.

James Labruyere – Football

James will attend the University of the South after making his mark in our football program. He earned his stripes in the trenches while at HIES and proved himself one of the top lineman in the region by the time he finished up his senior year.

Jordan Mays – Football

Jordan – a star in both football and basketball – has chosen football at Davidson College after graduation this May. A starter for last year's state champ hoops team, Jordan was a four-year starter on the gridiron and a consistent All-Region performer.

Sophia Ocampo – Lacrosse

After a stellar career as lacrosse goalkeeper that included 300-plus career saves and a recent shutout, Sophia will attend Shorter College in Rome where she looks to continue her stellar ways. She has been a four-year veteran on our varsity squads.

Congrats to all of the above, as well as their teachers, parents, coaches, mentors, and all involved. Go Bears!
