Miller Wimberly and Lucas Tiliakos were among the defensive stars, while Quinn Best had an interception …JV lost 21-7 to Blessed Trinity. Best had an interception, Wyatt Fields forced a fumble, as did William Haas, that was picked up and run in for a TD by Strickland Bloomston. Colin Horne, Robert Camp, and Dyer Fields also starred… MS fell 26-6 to Trinity Christian; Jace Johnson scored the TD, Eidan Berry excelled at free safety, and the offensive line also stepped up.
Run! Cross country competed at Wingfoot – some of the standouts were Harris Bradford, Gavin Miles, Ethan Ganucheau, Ellison Losin, Beatrice Jones, Cate Wassenaar, Blair Huber, Gavin Campos, and Patrick Mathis. … MS was also at Wingfoot and had stellar performances from Aubrey Cone, Mattie Treadway, Laney Kate Miller, Beckett Koenig, Will Moffat, and Owen Geiger.
Base hit! Softball beat Chattahoochee Wednesday and shutout Carver Monday. Mary Drew Wise pitched well vs. Chattahoochee; Hannah Herman starred at first base. In the Carver win, Charlie Smith threw a no-hitter while Whitney Laundon and Emily Gainer excelled at the plate …MS lost 10-6 to Westminster Wednesday; stars were Jackie Sullivan (pitching), Ruby Lewis, Aubrey Busch and Hannah Webber (defense), and Maddie Porter, Emma Bell, Allison Camp, and Sullivan (offense). They fell 8-1 to Whitefield last week. Sullivan pitched well, Webber starred defensively, and Sloane Hodgson and Lewis led with the bats.
Bump! Volleyball swept both Carver and Therrell Tuesday, where seniors Claire Hobbs and Jordynn Skinner were honored. They had a tough day at the Lovett Block Party but did get good play from Harley Ward and Hobbs. They beat Galloway 2-0 last week, led by Nora Godfrey, Lilah Smith, and Hobbs.
Set! JV volleyball topped St. Pius 3-1 Wednesday, led by Samantha Jordan, Chandler Campos, and Kimora Wynn. They swept Galloway last Thursday, with Byrdie Chartrand leading the attack… 8
th grade fell 2-0 to GAC Wednesday, with standouts including Anna Johnston, Allison Miller, and Yardley Jones. They lost to Sutton in three sets Monday, though Miller was a superstar… 7
th grade swept GAC Wednesday: Kynlee Swain and Kiran Meese both excelled. They lost in two to Sutton earlier in the week but got good play from Grace Holden and Madison Davis.
