Touchdown! Football beat Mt. Vernon 51-14 – with TD's coming from Sam Chasteen (2), a Ryan Woods pass to Hunter Laughlin, a Woods reception from Deuce Grayson and a Woods run, and two Grayson pick-6's. Preston Massie, Finn Ferrero, Phillip Griffin, Brayden Bailey, Bennett Burroughs, and Ryder Ripp (sack) were some of the defensive leaders.   …JV lost to Blessed Trinity – our TD came on a Wyatt Fields pick-6…MS shutout Westminster 36-0 Wednesday; Thomas Blanchard Loftus and London Grayson both had more than one touchdown. Luke Miller and Jackson Reinhardt paced the defense; Jackson and Reinhart had a pick-6 and a receiving score. They fell 22-0 to Westminster last Thursday, but got good play from Hudson Adams, Charlie Williamson, and Ross Shaw (defense), and Mattis Taylor and Thomas McDavid (receiving).
 
Spike! Volleyball split before break, falling to Westminster before topping Etowah. Chandler Campos and Harley Ward came up big vs. Etowah.… JV beat both Westminster and Mt. Paran last week, with Liza Tomilov, Mia Williamson, and Grace Holden among the leaders…8^th grade fell in two to GAC Tuesday and lost in two to Fellowship last week. Standouts vs. Fellowship included Brynn Shepherd, Aubrey Bush, and Madison Davis…7^th grade lost to GAC 2-0 Tuesday to Fellowship 2-0 last Thursday. Nora Damani, Caroline Aiello, and Ava James starred against Fellowship.
 
Base hit! Softball returns to action this Friday vs. Wesleyan in region play….MS lost to Woodward 5-0 Wednesday but got great play from Katie Schreck (catcher) and Allison Camp (hitting). 
 
Run! Cross country was idle over the weekend but will return to action Saturday at the Ortho West Invitational in Carrollton. Harris Bradford, Bobby Spencer, Ellison Losin, and Beatrice Jones have been among the leaders so far…MS will open its season this Saturday on Baker Field with a local meet. 
 
Fore! MS boys' golf topped Alexander Wednesday, paced by Parker Rivera (1^st overall), Hunter Kies (43), and Beau Brinson (45). Cooper Angell, Nick Rescigno, and Redding Catone also contributed.  They topped Fulton Science Academy before break, led by Rivera (37), Resigno and Catone (42), Angell (43), and Kies (45). Girls fell to Fulton Science but got good play out of Mia Flower (55), Alley Boulden, and Valentina Heintzelman. 
 
Ad-in! MS tennis lost to GAC in both girls' and boys' play last week, though Dolly Esdale played a stellar match at #3 singles for the girls. They will resume regular season play Thursday.
