Holy Innocents' Episcopal School Athletics

Coach Micayla Rood joined Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School in 2021 and was named head varsity softball coach in 2022.

In addition to coaching, Coach Rood serves as a kindergarten lead teacher at HIES. During her time with the Golden Bears, she has focused on building a competitive program rooted in fundamentals, effort, and player development.

Coach Rood brings a strong playing background to the program, having competed at the Division I level at Mercer University. During her collegiate career, she earned Southern Conference Freshman of the Year, All-Conference, Academic All-Conference, and All-Tournament Team honors.

When not on the field or in the classroom, Coach Rood enjoys supporting student-athletes and contributing to the HIES community.
