Â
The Holy Innocents' Athletic Department is proud to announce the hiring of Jessica Kirsch as our new tennis coach, where she will start up our Middle School program as the head girls' and boys' coach, and will take over the boys' varsity head position as well.
Â
She will also serve as Middle School physical education teacher.Â
Â
"I'm super-excited about joining the Holy Innocents' family," she said. "Everyone I've spoken to has been wonderful and very accommodating. Also, I've seen the team camaraderie here and have already felt the family element. It's all been very welcoming."
Â
Jessica comes over after leading Mt. Vernon's middle school girls' team to a runner-up finish in the Metro 10, as well as guiding the varsity boys to a Sweet 16 and the varsity girls to an Elite Eight showing. She has also taught at Horseshoe Bend Country Club, has been a private coach the last 10 years in both the Sandy Springs and East Cobb areas, and has instructed in many camp settings.Â
Â
Off the court, she has taught for five-plus years, with two in elementary education and three as a P.E. teacher. She has a bachelor's degree in communication sciences and disorders from the University of Georgia and, in her spare time, enjoys spending family time, traveling, working out, and being outdoors.Â
Â
She also remains a good player, as she once "played in five or six leagues at a time," and has competed on high-level teams in the area, with several of her teams have earning state championship appearances.Â
Â
Jessica will take over the head boys' tennis slot from
Laura Clark, who led the squad for seven seasons, with all seven ending in postseason appearances, including one championship appearance.Â
Â
Welcome Coach Kirsch, and congratulations to you in joining a great program and family! Go Bears!Â
