Senior Taylor Fuller and sophomore Bryce Floyd have already made big baseball news here at Holy Innocents'. Word has spread, and the two have been garnering some state-wide news and beyond as well, as both have been selected to participate in the Atlanta Braves 44 Classic this weekend at Truist Park; both were chosen among a huge field.
 
"It's a big honor," Bryce said. "One of the guys approached me last spring, but I was busy with school ball. Still, I'm excited and looking forward to it."

Taylor agreed, and also added a philosophical note: "The way you do anything is the way you do everything."
 
From their website, "The 44 Classic will showcase the top diverse high school baseball talent from the Southeast to college coaches and professional baseball scouts. Sponsored by Nike, the Classic serves as a platform to increase accessibility and exposure for high school players in various aspects of baseball – including scouting, data analytics, and front office careers."
 
As for HIES baseball, Taylor is a three year starter and expected to be so again this spring. He remains a huge help to Coach Jeff Rowland and his squad, not only with his bat, but also with his glove and his speed.
 
Bryce, despite his youth, has proven a versatile performer who can pitch, play in the field, and provide whatever is needed to his team. 
 
The event will run for two days – there will be a pro-style workout open to scouts, college coaches, and family Saturday, which will consist of a 60-yard dash, throwing and fielding drills, batting practice and more. Former Braves Marquis Grisson, Marvin Freeman, and former major leaguer Lou Collier will be among the staff.
 
The Classic Game will be on Sunday.
